TikTok has introduced new features aimed at helping users identify AI-generated content and understand how artificial intelligence is being used on the platform. The company said the new tools are designed to improve transparency and increase awareness among users.
The video-sharing platform is launching an Educational Hub that will provide guidance on recognising AI-generated videos. It will also explain AI labels, safety measures, and ways users can better understand digital content.
According to TikTok, the new educational resources will help users make more informed decisions while browsing content on the platform. The company is working with experts and organisations to improve AI literacy among its global user community.
TikTok Develops New AI Detection Tools
TikTok is also testing new tools that can help identify AI-generated content and detect possible AI spam videos. The platform said these features are part of its wider efforts to manage the growing use of artificial intelligence.
One of the new tools under testing is Likeness Detection. This feature is designed to identify AI-generated content that may involve digital representations of people.
The company is also improving existing AI-powered features, including Smart Split and AI Outline. These tools are being updated to provide better support for content creation and AI-related experiences.
TikTok said more than 3 billion videos on the platform have already received labels related to AI-generated or AI-assisted content.
New Feature to Manage AI Content
The platform is further testing a Manage Topics feature. This option will allow users to control how much AI-generated content appears in their feeds.
Through this feature, users may have more control over the type of content they see while using the app. TikTok said the goal is to create a more transparent and user-friendly experience.
The company highlighted that artificial intelligence is becoming a larger part of online content creation. It said users need better tools to understand and identify AI-generated material.
