The interim Punjab government has declared a public holiday on September 7 to commemorate the annual Urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh Syed Ali Hajwari (RA) in Lahore.
During a visit to the shrine, Interim Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement, stating that the three-day festivities would begin on the following Tuesday. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve the event’s arrangements.

Furthermore, Naqvi mentioned that discussions had taken place with the commissioner regarding the provision of food at the langar khana (food distribution point) to ensure that all Urs attendees would have access to meals.
Additionally, preparations were being made for the organization of Mehfil-e-Samaa as part of the celebrations.
