TikTok has introduced a standalone shopping application for Android and iPhone users, giving its e-commerce business a dedicated platform outside its main social media app.

The new TikTok Shop application is currently available in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, according to technology publication TechCrunch.

The company has not made a formal public announcement about the launch. Social media consultant Matt Navarra first brought attention to the new application.

Unlike the existing shopping features integrated into TikTok, the separate app focuses entirely on product discovery and online purchases.

Users can browse personalised product recommendations, watch shopping livestreams and explore short videos demonstrating different products.

The application also provides in-app checkout, order tracking and customer support. Shoppers can access exclusive discounts, free shipping promotions and special benefits on their first purchase.

The launch gives TikTok Shop a separate destination for customers who want to browse and purchase products without opening the main social media platform.

The move could strengthen TikTok’s position in the global e-commerce market by bringing it into more direct competition with established platforms such as Amazon and Temu.

TikTok previously allowed users to purchase products through videos, livestreams and shopping sections within its main application.

The new platform takes that experience further by combining product recommendations, video-based shopping and payment services in a dedicated application.

According to the app’s official description, customers can complete purchases through secure payment options and follow their orders after checkout. The platform also advertises customer assistance available around the clock.

Exclusive promotional offers appear to be another important part of TikTok’s strategy. By providing app-only discounts and first-order benefits, the company could encourage existing users to download the separate shopping application.

The launch also creates an interesting comparison with Amazon’s earlier shopping strategy. Amazon introduced its Inspire feature in 2022, bringing short-form videos and photographs into its shopping experience.

TikTok is now taking a different approach by giving its existing video-based shopping business an independent platform.

For the time being, the standalone TikTok Shop app remains limited to four Southeast Asian markets. It is available through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

However, TikTok has not confirmed whether the application will expand to the United States, Europe or other international markets.

Pakistani users are also waiting for information about its potential local availability. The company has not announced an official launch date for the standalone TikTok Shop application in Pakistan.

The development reflects TikTok’s broader efforts to expand beyond short-video entertainment and build additional digital services.

By establishing a dedicated shopping platform, the company is testing whether consumers will use TikTok not only to discover products but also as a regular destination for online shopping.
