Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has emphasized that there are no restrictions on the Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the announcement of the election date is not within the interim government’s mandate.
Solangi expressed confidence in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as an autonomous constitutional body to conduct polls on the date it announces. He reassured that all registered political parties, including PTI, have equal opportunities, and they are free to express their opinions on important issues.

Regarding Nawaz Sharif’s return on October 21, Solangi stated that the interim government has no involvement in the matter. Nawaz Sharif, a former prime minister, has been residing in London since 2019 due to health reasons and was disqualified for life in 2017. Solangi emphasized that Nawaz’s return would be dealt with according to the law and the Constitution.
On the issue of expelling illegal foreigners from the country, Solangi highlighted that Pakistan has hosted a significant number of refugees over the past four decades but emphasized the need for proper documentation. He stated that illegal foreigners should voluntarily leave the country by October 31, and after that, they would be forcibly evicted to secure national borders and defend citizens.
Solangi clarified that the process of privatization was not initiated by the caretaker government but was decided by the previous elected government and parliament. The caretaker government is not responsible for initiating privatization.
