Shaheen Afridi has been named the T20I captain of the Pakistan cricket team following Babar Azam’s resignation from the all-format captaincy.
Babar Azam stepped down after a meeting with PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf. The Pakistan Cricket Board appointed Shaheen Afridi to lead the team in T20 Internationals.

This change in leadership comes in the aftermath of Pakistan’s unsatisfactory performance in the ICC World Cup 2023.
Afridi will take on the captaincy role for the T20 format as the team looks to regroup and strategize for future competitions.
