Netflix's 'Squid Game: The Challenge' Finale Disappoints Fans

The finale of Squid Game: The Challenge premiered on Wednesday, marking the conclusion of the much-anticipated reality TV show. Unfortunately, the episode, which determined the winner of the substantial $4.6 million prize money, left viewers unimpressed.

The reality series, inspired by the popular Korean drama Squid Game, featured contestants engaging in games reminiscent of the original series, such as Red Light, Green Light, Honeycombs, and Hopscotch. Out of the initial 456 players, the final showdown narrowed down to three contestants: Player 016 Sam, Player 287 Mai, and Player 451 Phil.

To the disappointment of fans, the climax of the thrilling show unfolded in a rather lackluster manner. The ultimate game that would decide the winner turned out to be the classic Rock, Paper, Scissors. Sam secured the third position after opting for a chance button during the final three’s dinner. The two remaining finalists were then directed to engage in multiple rounds of rock, paper, and scissors.

For each victorious round, the contestant earned a key that could potentially unlock a safe containing the coveted prize. In the end, Mai emerged as the winner, selecting the correct key that opened a safe revealing a golden credit card. Despite the buzz leading up to the finale, the choice of Rock, Paper, Scissors left some viewers underwhelmed with the conclusion of the show.
