Who Will Sing PSL 9 Anthem?

On Monday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made a move to engage singer Ali Hamza for the anthem of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9. Ali Hamza, a prominent figure in the music industry, previously served as one of the producers in Coke Studio season 11 and is a member of the well-known Noori band.

Ali Hamza gained recognition for his notable contribution to Coke Studio Season 9 with the song “Par Chanaa De.” He is the brother of Ali Noor, a key figure who brought about a revolution in Pop music during the early 2000s.

The 43-year-old artist is acclaimed for his mesmerizing album “Suno k Main Hun Jawan,” released in October 2003. This album marked the debut of the exceptionally talented Noori brothers in the rock music scene.

Initially, the PCB had approached singer Ali Zafar, renowned for his blockbuster PSL Anthems and contributions to building the brand of the Pakistan Super League. However, Ali Zafar, in an official statement, revealed that despite investing two months of effort, hiring musicians, and creating three different anthems for the PSL, the PCB informed him that his association with the league would harm its brand and integrity. As a result, the anthem will now be produced by another singer.

The focus has now shifted to Ali Hamza, whose magical voice might become the defining sound of the ninth season of the PSL. The deal between Ali Hamza and the PCB is yet to be finalized. Notably, previous PSL seasons have seen anthems by various artists like Fawad Khan, Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig, Young Stunners, Asim Azhar, Arif Lohar, and Shae Gill, each contributing to the league’s elevated identity and branding.
