In a surprising turn of events, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif has emerged victorious, defeating independent candidate Dr. Yasmin Rashid, who was backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Despite an early lead by Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Nawaz Sharif secured a significant victory, garnering 171,024 votes compared to Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s 115,043 votes from NA-130, Lahore.
The election results also raised eyebrows as 13 candidates failed to secure even one vote, leading to questions about the transparency of the electoral process.

Other members of the Sharif family, including Maryam Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif, and Hamza Shehbaz, have also won their seats in the elections. However, in a major upset for the PML-N from Lahore, Khawaja Saad Rafique lost to PTI-backed independent candidate Sardar Latif Khosa.
Khawaja Saad Rafique took to his social media account to accept defeat gracefully and congratulate his opponent. Similarly, Mian Azhar, the father of PTI leader Hammad Azhar, also secured a victory, defeating PML-N’s candidate by more than 30,000 votes.
