The coordination committees of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have completed their second round of talks in Islamabad to discuss progress on government formation. The committees will hold a third consultation session to finalize recommendations after consulting with their respective political leaderships.

Representatives from PML-N, including Senator Ishaq Dar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, and Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan, engaged in talks with PPP representatives, including Syed Murad Ali Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Saeed Ghani, Sardar Bahadur Khan Sehar, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Shazi Khan. The PPP has expressed its support for the PML-N in forming a government and electing the next prime minister, with the condition that the PML-N reciprocates by supporting the PPP in elections for crucial constitutional offices.
The nomination of candidates for these influential positions remains challenging for PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, with speculation surrounding individuals like Yousuf Raza Gilani and Khursheed Shah for key roles in the National Assembly.
