Namibia’s Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton made cricket history by smashing the record for the fastest century in T20 International (T20I) cricket with a blazing 33-ball 100 against Nepal.
The left-handed batsman showcased an extraordinary performance, hammering 11 fours and eight sixes en route to his remarkable century. Loftie-Eaton eventually departed for a stellar 101 off just 36 deliveries during the match held in Kirtipur, Nepal.

In addition to his explosive batting display, Loftie-Eaton also made a notable contribution with the ball, claiming bowling figures of 2-29. His all-round performance played a crucial role as Nepal was bowled out for 186 while chasing a target of 207.
This historic match marked the inauguration of the tri-series in Nepal, which also includes the Netherlands, with the final slated for March 05.
Previously, Nepal’s Kushal Malla held the record for the fastest century in T20I cricket, achieving the feat in 34 balls against Mongolia in September.
While Loftie-Eaton’s accomplishment is awe-inspiring, the record for the fastest century in T20 cricket still belongs to West Indies’ Chris Gayle, who achieved the milestone in just 30 balls while representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Both Namibia and Nepal are set to compete in the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, to be held in the West Indies and USA. Namibia currently holds the 11th rank in T20I rankings, while Nepal is positioned at 16th place.
