Naseem Shah: Injury Concerns Surface Again

Pakistan cricket team’s premier fast bowler, Naseem Shah, has been rested from Islamabad United’s crucial encounter against Karachi Kings in PSL 9 due to a potential injury sustained in the previous night’s match against Lahore Qalandars.

During the match, Naseem suffered bruising on his calf when he was accidentally hit by a throw from fellow-bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi while attempting to run him out.

Naseem entered the batting crease in the 11th over with Islamabad United struggling at 74/7 while chasing a target of 163. The unfortunate incident occurred in the 14th over when a rapid throw from Shaheen struck Naseem on the calf as he attempted to field a ball hit by Faheem Ashraf.

The impact caused Naseem significant pain, leading him to toss his bat in the air and fall to the ground. Shaheen, displaying concern, immediately checked on Naseem’s condition, and the umpire signaled for a strategic timeout. The team physiotherapist attended to Naseem, who appeared uncomfortable and limping from the blow.

During the toss for the match against Karachi Kings, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan provided an update on Naseem’s condition, stating that the fast bowler was being rested as a precautionary measure. However, no specific timeline for his return was provided.
