Pakistan Railways Set to Announce Significant Relief Measures for Passengers

The Pakistan Railways (PR) is considering providing relief to passengers planning to travel via Eid Special trains, hinted PR Chief Executive Officer Amir Baloch.

 

Baloch mentioned that the department will explore the possibility of reducing fares for special trains ahead of Eidul Fitr 2024. The national railways will operate four special trains to assist passengers during the upcoming Eid festivities, with the schedule already announced.

The first Eid special train is scheduled to depart from Karachi to Peshawar on April 7 at 6 am, followed by the second Eid special train departing from Quetta to Rawalpindi at 10 am on the same day.

On April 8th, the third special train will depart from Karachi Cantt to Lahore at 9 pm, while the fourth Eid special train is set to depart from Lahore to Karachi at 5 pm on April 9th.

Additionally, Baloch highlighted the popularity of the ‘Premium Lounge’ attached to Bahauddin Zakariya Express among passengers and mentioned plans to extend the lounge to Tezgam and Hazara Express trains. The dining car can accommodate up to 45 passengers simultaneously, offering a menu with over 40 dishes, including barbecue and pizza options.

Furthermore, Baloch stated that the issues regarding delayed employee salaries have been resolved, with ongoing efforts to address pension and gratuity matters.
