Upcoming Free Games on the Epic Games Store

According to Wccftech, a third-party website called EpicDB, which tracks the Epic Games Store library, may have unintentionally exposed a large number of upcoming games.

EpicDB was taken down shortly after publishing information collected from the Epic Games Store on Monday. However, users managed to access and share the list before the site went offline.

Screenshots shared on a ResetEra forum display games from major publishers like Bethesda, Sega, Sony, and Square Enix. While some titles like Turok are identifiable, others are listed under codenames such as โ€œParksideโ€ or โ€œBioShock 4,โ€ which have been previously rumored.

The leaked list also included titles with unknown codenames, sparking speculation among gamers. Some believe โ€œMomoโ€ might be a code for the long-rumored Final Fantasy 9 remake, while โ€œSelmaโ€ could hint at a PC version of Red Dead Redemption 1. โ€œUtahโ€ has fans guessing about a possible PC release of The Last of Us Part 2, rumored to be nearing launch.

Epic Games has since patched its system to prevent websites like EpicDB from accessing unreleased game information. Brian Sharon, an Epic Games spokesperson, told The Verge:

โ€œWe released an update tonight so third-party tools canโ€™t surface any new unpublished product titles from the Epic Games Store catalog.โ€

Despite this, the leak revealed numerous titles under mysterious codenames, such as Segaโ€™s โ€œCurlyWurlyโ€ and Bethesdaโ€™s โ€œBrownie,โ€ leaving online detectives with plenty of puzzles to solve.
