Travis Head Is Now Ranked First In ICC T20 While Babar And Rizwan Fall

Suryakumar Yadav, who held the top spot in the ICC T20I batting rankings for a long time, has been replaced by Australian opener Travis Head. Head’s rise to number one comes after an exceptional performance in the ICC T20 World Cup, where he scored 76 runs in a closely contested match against India, which followed a significant total set by Rohit Sharma.

Head’s climb to the top saw him leapfrogging four positions, pushing Suryakumar Yadav, Phil Salt, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan each down by one place to occupy the top five positions.

India’s Hardik Pandya moved up to third, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi held onto second place, and Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga reclaimed the number one position. West Indies’ Roston Chase made a substantial leap, climbing 17 places to reach 12th.

Among the bowlers, England’s Adil Rashid retained his top ranking, while Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan moved up to second after his outstanding performances in the World Cup. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood rose three places to fourth, closely trailing Hasaranga.

Further down the rankings, notable improvements were seen with India’s Kuldeep Yadav jumping 20 places to 11th, Jasprit Bumrah moving an impressive 44 spots to 24th, and England’s Jofra Archer climbing 19 places to 38th following his return from injury.
