Bitcoin prices surged past $60,000 following the attempted shooting of former President Donald Trump, who is anticipated to be the Republican nominee for the 2024 elections.
During a campaign rally, Trump was attacked but managed to escape unharmed. Following the incident, Bitcoin’s value jumped from $58,337 to $60,224, reaching its highest point in a week, according to CoinGecko.

In contrast, Trump-related meme coins saw even greater gains, with TREMP rising by 71% to $0.66, while TRUMP and MAGA increased by 39% and 33%, respectively.
Trump has positioned himself as a strong advocate for cryptocurrency, setting himself apart from current President Joe Biden in the upcoming election. After the assassination attempt, some investors believe Trump’s campaign will gain traction, expecting that a potential Trump win could lead to more favorable regulations for the crypto sector compared to Biden’s administration.
