Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Fazlur Rehman has asserted that military interference is a significant contributor to the country’s instability. During a speech at the JUI’s provincial council session on Tuesday, he urged powerful entities to understand that their involvement in politics is harmful to national stability. He pointed out that the outcomes of the 2018 and 2024 elections have revealed substantial institutional interference.
Fazl expressed concerns that the upcoming Operation Azm-e-Istehkam could further escalate unrest, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized that such operations could exacerbate existing tensions and instability in the region, highlighting the need for a more measured approach.
