Federal Minister Chaudhry Salik Hussain reported to the Senate Standing Committee that around 50,000 Pakistani pilgrims have gone missing in Iraq after their religious trips.
During the briefing led by Senator Ata-ur-Rehman, Hussain discussed problems in managing these pilgrimages, including unauthorized fees charged by tour operators for visas and issues at the Taftan border, such as long waits and poor facilities.

Efforts are underway to address these issues, involving coordination with provincial authorities to develop a comprehensive policy for better managing pilgrim visits.
