Renowned screenwriter Khalilur Rehman Qamar has claimed that during his abduction, his kidnappers mentioned actors Noman Ijaz and Saba Qamar. In a podcast interview, Qamar explained that he was initially reluctant to file an FIR because the kidnappers invoked the names of these actors.
Qamar expressed disdain for Noman Ijaz but acknowledged his acting skills, while he also respected Saba Qamar’s talent despite their differences. He believes the kidnappers used these names to confuse and mentally disturb him.

Khalilur Rehman Qamar was surprised by the support he received from his Indian fans amid the ordeal, contrasting it with the negativity he faced in Pakistan. He was primarily concerned for his wife and daughters during the kidnapping and even urged the abductors to kill him if necessary.
His wife is now considering leaving Pakistan due to the trauma, but Qamar remains deeply attached to his country and does not plan to emigrate. The kidnapping, which took place last week in Lahore, began when Qamar was lured to a house under the guise of discussing a drama project.
Armed men then abducted him, robbed him, and tortured him before releasing him after a substantial ransom payment. The Sundar police station in Lahore has filed a case based on Qamar’s statement.
The FIR details the suspects’ threats, torture, theft of personal items, and withdrawal of Rs250,000 from Khalilur Rehman Qamar ATM card before leaving him blindfolded in a deserted area.
