PTI Granted Permission for Power Show in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The district administration has approved Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a power show in Islamabad on August 22. This decision followed a contempt plea filed in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding the earlier suspension of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for PTI’s event.

The plea, filed by Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aein Coordinator Khanzaada Hussain, argued that the NOC was wrongfully canceled despite a court order. The Deputy Commissioner had previously confirmed the issuance of the NOC, but PTI leader Amir Mughal was arrested while organizing the event, and the cancellation was later announced via a police tweet.

Previously, the Islamabad Chief Commissioner had suspended the NOC a day before the scheduled event due to security concerns. Despite this, the district administration has now re-approved the public gathering, which was initially permitted on July 6 near Tarnol Chowk, and the IHC had disposed of the application seeking NOC for PTI’s meeting.
