In an unexpected move, actress and vocal critic Iffat Umar has defended playwright Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar amidst the recent scandal involving leaked private videos. Despite Qamar facing extortion and blackmail, and receiving criticism on social media, Umar took a supportive stance.
On X (formerly Twitter), Umar addressed the situation without naming Qamar directly, stating that those criticized in the past are now the ones defending him. She emphasized privacy rights, noting, “I have no issue with consensual acts between adults; their bodies, their choice.”
