Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has declared that the party is gearing up for the Islamabad municipal elections with high expectations for a decisive victory. Speaking outside the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) on Monday, Gohar encouraged PTI candidates to submit their nominations in significant numbers and expressed confidence in a comprehensive win.
Gohar also addressed a recent Supreme Court ruling on vote recounts in four constituencies, expressing frustration over the dismissal of PTI’s concerns and the rejection of valid votes without a recount request in NA-79. He hopes the ECP will address these issues.

The Supreme Court overturned a Lahore High Court decision that had ordered a recount in several constituencies, previously approved by the ECP. PTI-backed candidates had challenged this recount order, which led to a reversal by the Supreme Court. Additionally, Gohar criticized the recent electricity price relief in Punjab, describing it as inadequate and temporary, arguing that substantial and permanent reductions are needed.
