Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir praised Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, in an online conversation with Wasim Akram. Gambhir highlighted Babar’s potential, stating he doesn’t need to prove anything and could become one of Pakistan’s greatest batsmen.
Gambhir advised Babar against captaining in league cricket, arguing that winning the PSL wouldn’t add much to his career. Instead, he suggested that Babar should focus on his batting.

Wasim Akram agreed with Gambhir, recalling that he had similarly advised Babar to avoid the extra stress of captaincy in leagues. He recommended that Babar should concentrate on playing, scoring runs, and preparing for future events.
Interestingly, Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck on home ground during the recent Rawalpindi Test against Bangladesh.
