The post also mentioned, “Cinema listings will be shared soon.”
The film was initially set to release in India in December 2022 but faced an indefinite postponement. Zee Studios, which holds the distribution rights, had planned releases in Delhi and Punjab but did not provide further updates after the delay.
Although the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not officially comment, sources suggested that theatre announcements would follow once CBFC clearance was obtained.
There were earlier claims of opposition from the Indian political party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), but the Punjab Censor Board was expected to approve the film.
‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ premiered on October 13, 2022, and achieved a historic milestone by grossing over Rs4 billion worldwide by August 2023, making it the highest-grossing Pakistani film. Its upcoming release in India marks the first time in over a decade that a Pakistani film will be shown in Indian theaters, following Shoaib Mansoor’s ‘Bol.’
Given its massive success and star-studded cast, Indian audiences are eagerly anticipating its release.
