Massive Diesel Theft Uncovered From PSO Pipeline in Rawalpindi

PSO Pipeline

Authorities have exposed a significant theft from a Pakistan State Oil (PSO) pipeline in Rawalpindi, with diesel worth over Rs 80 million stolen over the past few months. The theft occurred in the Humak area, prompting a formal police complaint.

The pipeline, running between the Sihala installation and Attock Refineries, had been facing irregular fuel flow since June 2024. PSO officials noticed a drop in diesel pressure and suspected theft. After numerous investigations, the company’s security team identified suspicious activity near the pipeline.

Further examination revealed that the thieves had managed to tap into the pipeline, siphoning off approximately 302,000 liters of diesel. A case has been filed under Section 462-B of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with tampering with petroleum pipelines.

PSO and local police are working together to trace those behind the theft. As a precautionary measure, security has been increased around the pipeline to prevent future incidents of this nature.
