Bushra Iqbal, former wife of late TV host and religious scholar Aamir Liaquat, has obtained a fatwa challenging Dania Shah’s claims to widowhood. Bushra announced that Dania divorced Liaquat prior to his death, disqualifying her from inheriting his assets or using the title of widow.
Bushra shared a notice on social media urging the public and media to avoid referring to Dania as Liaquat’s widow. She cited records from NADRA showing Dania’s marriage to Liaquat is not registered, further disputing her claim to his inheritance.

Adding to the case, Bushra pointed out that Dania has remarried, strengthening the argument against her widow status. Bushra and her daughter had previously filed a case against Dania, accusing her of circulating inappropriate videos of Liaquat and causing distress that led to his passing. Dania was later granted bail in that case.
Dania Shah married a man named Shehzad earlier this year, announcing that she needed support through personal struggles and accepted his proposal.
