Former national cricket team captain Babar Azam’s bat will be prominently displayed in the Long Room of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). This exhibition comes after MCG officials requested the bat used by Babar in the 2022 T20 World Cup final, and he graciously agreed to donate it for this honor.
The Long Room is a prestigious space that has previously showcased bats from cricket legends such as Don Bradman, David Boon, Jack Hobbs, and Brian Lara, making Babar’s inclusion a significant recognition of his contributions to the sport. In expressing his gratitude, Babar Azam stated, “It is an honor for me to have my bat placed in the Long Room. I have many memories associated with the MCG; it is one of the best grounds in the world, and having my bat alongside those of great batters is a special joy for me.”
