Veteran actor Leyla Zuberi shared her thoughts on the evolution of the industry and young actors’ attitudes in a candid interview with Imran Ashraf. Known for her iconic roles, the Udaari star observed a shift in professionalism among today’s artistes, describing some as quick to embrace a “diva” persona.
Zuberi expressed nostalgia for the dedication of her generation, noting that younger actors often seem more focused on shortcuts to fame. Sharing anecdotes, she mentioned instances of production delays caused by actors prioritizing their image over punctuality. “Back then, our passion for work overshadowed pride or ego,” she remarked.

The seasoned performer also highlighted how some newcomers equate assertive demands with being a heroine or hero, sometimes slowing down production until their requests are met. However, Zuberi emphasized her commitment to positivity throughout her career, steering clear of envy or gossip despite challenges.
Reflecting on her journey, the Pukaar actor attributed her success to maintaining a gracious outlook and navigating negativity with resilience. “Perhaps that’s why God has been kind to me in this journey,” she shared.
