The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Enforcement Squad recently conducted targeted operations against unauthorized commercial and residential buildings along Dhamial Kalyal Road, GT Road, and Chak Beli Khan Road. During the operation, seven illegal commercial markets and three homes were sealed.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the operation was led by the Enforcement Squad, which included officials such as the assistant director of building control, building inspectors, and other staff, with the support of the Dhamial and Rawat police stations. The owners of these properties were found to be in violation of approved building plans and maps.

Despite receiving prior notices from the RDA, the property owners continued to violate regulations, including breaching the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021. The illegal construction of commercial buildings had been carried out without obtaining the necessary approvals or No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza has emphasized the need for strict enforcement against encroachments, unauthorized constructions, and illegal commercial activities. She has directed the Land Use & Building Control (LU&BC) Wing to take stringent actions to address these violations.
