Bilawal Calls For Political Stability Amid Opposition Criticism

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has emphasized the urgent need for political stability and the establishment of the state’s writ. Addressing the PPP’s 57th foundation day via video link, he stressed that stability must be achieved through dialogue or, if necessary, force.

Bilawal criticized the opposition, particularly the PTI, for hindering political stability, referencing their November 2023 protest march and the events of May 9. He questioned the opposition’s reluctance to engage in democratic dialogue, accusing them of only seeking discussions with non-political entities.

He also commented on the PML-N-led government’s consideration of extreme measures like banning political parties or imposing Governor’s Rule but clarified that the PPP opposes such actions and favors political solutions.

Paying tribute to the PPP’s legacy, Bilawal highlighted Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s contributions to democracy and economic reforms and Benazir Bhutto’s resilience against dictatorships. He also credited Asif Ali Zardari for achievements like the 18th Amendment and social programs.

Bilawal reiterated the PPP’s commitment to addressing public issues and fostering democracy, calling for renewed efforts against terrorism and the promotion of agriculture and technology sectors to stabilize Pakistan’s economy.
