Thousands of users worldwide, including in Pakistan, reported disruptions on Meta platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Threads late last night.
According to Downdetector.com, a platform that tracks outages in real time, nearly 1,000 users in Pakistan reported problems with Meta’s services around 11 p.m. WhatsApp was also impacted, with 2,259 complaints logged since 10:52 p.m., while Instagram registered over 1,200 outage reports during the same period.

Some users on Facebook and Instagram reported encountering error messages like “something went wrong” and turned to the rival platform X to share their experiences. In a brief statement on Facebook, Meta acknowledged the issue, stating, “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
WhatsApp also addressed the disruptions on X, noting, “We’re aware of some issues accessing WhatsApp. We’re actively working on a solution and are starting to see a return to normal for most people. We expect things to be fully restored shortly.”
Earlier this year, a similar technical glitch caused a prolonged outage, disrupting access to Facebook and Instagram for hundreds of thousands of users worldwide for over two hours.
