Social Welfare Dept and NADRA Launch Senior Citizen Card

The Sindh Social Welfare Department (SWD), in collaboration with NADRA, has launched the Senior Citizen Card (SCC) to provide several services to the senior citizens of Sindh. This initiative makes Sindh the first province in Pakistan to introduce a special card for senior citizens.

At the signing ceremony of the agreement between the Social Welfare Department Sindh and NADRA, Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur, the Provincial Minister for Social Welfare, emphasized that this initiative reflects the government’s commitment to the dignity and well-being of senior citizens. The card, previously known as the Azadi Card, has been reintroduced as part of the Sindh government’s efforts to support the elderly.

Through this initiative, more than 3.7 million senior citizens in Sindh will benefit from improved access to various services, including healthcare and travel facilities. The initiative is expected to enhance the quality of life for senior citizens and provide them with essential services that support their health and mobility.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials including Pervaiz Ahmed Sehar, the Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, and Athar Hussain Mirani, the Director General of the Social Welfare Department.
