Police in Wisconsin are investigating the motive behind a fatal school shooting carried out by a 15-year-old girl at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. The shooter, identified as Natalie Rupnow (also known as Samantha), killed a student and a teacher before taking her own life. Two other students remain in critical condition, while several others sustained injuries.

Investigators are examining the girl’s online presence, including a potential manifesto, and her phone and computer for any clues about her actions. Police are also trying to determine how she obtained the gun and whether her parents were negligent, though no evidence of parental negligence has been found so far.
The incident adds to the alarming rise in school shootings in the U.S., with 322 incidents reported this year, the second-highest total since 1966.
