Usyk Defeats Fury Again to Retain Heavyweight Titles

Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk successfully defended his unified heavyweight world titles with a unanimous decision victory over Tyson Fury at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Saturday. The Ukrainian champion, aged 37, retained his WBA (Super), WBC, and WBO belts after all three judges scored the fight 116-112 in his favour.

Fury, 36, started strong, using his size and power to push Usyk in the early rounds. A key strike in the second round briefly wobbled Usyk, but the Ukrainian’s tactical brilliance and precise bodywork helped him regain control by the middle rounds.

Despite a strong push from Fury in the ninth, Usyk finished the fight with a decisive combination in the 11th. Fury, visibly frustrated with the decision, left the ring without an interview, claiming he had won the fight by at least three rounds.

In his post-fight comments, Usyk showed respect to Fury, calling him a great fighter. Looking ahead, Usyk faces challenges from IBF champion Daniel Dubois and possibly a move back to cruiserweight, while Fury’s future remains uncertain after back-to-back losses.
