The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all public and private financial institutions will remain closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. The closure is in observance of a public holiday marking the 148th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

In its official notification, the SBP highlighted the cultural and historical significance of December 25 for the country. Quaid-e-Azam Day is celebrated nationwide with ceremonies, tributes, and reflections on Jinnah’s ideals and vision for Pakistan. The day serves as a reminder of his pivotal role in the country’s creation.
Alongside the national celebrations, the Christian community in Pakistan will observe Christmas on the same day. Festivities will include prayers, family gatherings, and charity events, adding to the cultural importance of the holiday.
