As snowfall blankets the Murree Hills, the City Traffic Police have issued important safety precautions for tourists planning to visit the popular hill station. With temperatures dropping to a low of -1ยฐC and a maximum of 8ยฐC, Chief Traffic Officer Mughees Ahmad Hashmi has assured that authorities are well-prepared to assist visitors, but emphasized the importance of safe travel.
To manage the increased tourist flow, 200 traffic wardens have been deployed to ensure smooth traffic and prevent congestion. With snowy conditions on the horizon, both tourists and locals are advised to take precautions to ensure their vehicles are winter-ready and avoid unnecessary risks.

Visitors are encouraged to equip their vehicles with essential cold-weather supplies, such as food, water, warm clothing, blankets, medications, and a flashlight. Checking tire pressure, ensuring wipers are winter-ready, and keeping fuel tanks half-full are some of the key recommendations. Travelers should also avoid unnecessary stops, drive slowly, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles to prevent accidents.
The City Traffic Police urge travelers to keep their loved ones informed of their routes, avoid driving in extreme conditions, and always stay connected during the journey. In the event of being stranded, tourists are advised to stay with their vehicles, conserve energy, and use brightly colored cloth to signal for help. Ensuring the exhaust pipe is clear is critical to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
