Naqvi Lauds Pakistan Team’s Performance in South Africa

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the national team for their historic 3-0 ODI series whitewash against South Africa, making Pakistan the first team to achieve this feat in a bilateral series on South African soil.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the national team for winning the third ODI and completing a clean sweep against South Africa,” Naqvi said in a PCB release. He also highlighted the standout performance of Saim Ayub, who scored his second century in the series finale, playing a crucial role in the victory. “Saim Ayub showcased his class by scoring a century and playing a pivotal role in the success,” Naqvi noted.

The PCB Chairman also commended the contributions of Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and emerging bowler Sufiyan Muqeem. “Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam batted exceptionally well, while Sufiyan Muqeem’s remarkable debut performance captivated the nation,” he added.

“This victory underscores the team’s teamwork, confidence, and passion,” said Naqvi, emphasizing the broader implications of the success. “It will boost the players’ morale and set the stage for the upcoming Champions Trophy,” he concluded.

In the third match, Pakistan secured a 36-run victory, successfully defending their total of 308/9. Saim Ayub led the charge with a scintillating 101 off 94 balls, complemented by solid performances from Babar Azam (52), Mohammad Rizwan (53), and Agha Salman (48). The bowling attack was spearheaded by Sufiyan Muqeem, who claimed 4/52, while Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah took two wickets each.
