A woman was killed early Wednesday when a Ukrainian drone struck a shopping mall in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, sparking a deadly fire. The drone, which was shot down by Russia’s air defense system at 0828 Moscow time, caused debris to hit the Alania Mall, leading to an explosion and fire.

Regional authorities confirmed the woman’s death, with initial reports suggesting she was a cleaner at the mall. The fire was contained to an upper floor, and no other injuries were reported. The mall was not yet open to the public at the time of the strike.
In the aftermath, Russia’s Ministry of Defence stated that 119 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed in the past 24 hours. Additionally, another drone fell in Malgobek, Ingushetia, but caused no casualties or damage.
