In an unexpected and heartwarming development, filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan have resolved their past differences and announced a new collaboration. The duo, who had a fallout in 2021 leading to Kartik’s exit from Dostana 2, will now reunite for a romantic comedy titled Tu Meri Main Tera.
Kartik shared the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he humorously introduced the project with a voiceover. In the video, he jokes about enduring three breakups and pledges to make his fourth relationship work, swearing on his mother’s name: “Mummy kasam khayi hai maine.”

Directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously worked with Kartik on Satyaprem Ki Katha, the film is set for a Christmas 2026 release. While the female lead has not been revealed, the project marks the first collaboration between Kartik and Karan under Dharma Productions.
This reconciliation follows the reported fallout between the two, which led to the halting of Dostana 2. Kartik, meanwhile, is gearing up for his next release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which will be available on Netflix starting December 27.
