COAS Gen Asim Munir Pledges Pakistan’s Commitment to Defend Kashmir

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir delivered a resolute message, declaring that Pakistan will not be deterred by India’s military advancements or modern technology. Addressing citizens and elders in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), he emphasized Pakistan’s unyielding support for Kashmir and readiness to fight multiple wars if necessary for the Kashmiri cause.

Gen Munir underscored that Pakistan had already fought three wars for Kashmir and was prepared to fight 10 more if required. He reaffirmed Kashmir as Pakistan’s “jugular vein,” stressing that the country’s survival is intrinsically linked to the freedom of Kashmir. “Without any doubt, Kashmir will be free one day and become part of Pakistan,” the army chief declared.

In his address, the COAS condemned Indian atrocities and the rise of Hindutva extremism, stating that such actions only strengthened the resolve of the Kashmiri people in their quest for self-determination. He added that Pakistan, as a powerful nation, will ensure that its voice and that of the Kashmiri people is heard globally.

Gen Asim also addressed Pakistan’s economic progress, dispelling rumors of an impending default. He highlighted the country’s vast natural resources, including a natural gas pipeline network worth $48 billion and mineral resources valued at $7 trillion, asserting that no nation with such assets could default. Pakistan’s recent economic achievements had surprised even the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank, he said.

During his visit to Muzaffarabad, the army chief paid tribute to Kashmiri martyrs, praising the dedication and combat readiness of the armed forces. He expressed confidence in the high morale of Pakistan’s military personnel and emphasized the need for continuous operational preparedness.

Looking toward the future, Gen Munir encouraged investments in AJK’s tourism sector, noting its potential for economic growth. He also announced that Pakistan had signed an agreement with Starlink, which would soon bring the fastest internet services to the region, bolstering development efforts in AJK.
