Facebook Requires Page Operators to Confirm Content Is Not for Children Under 13

Facebook

Facebook is now asking page operators worldwide to confirm that their content is not intended for children under 13. The message has appeared across various pages, including toy stores and pizza vendors, with the deadline set for September 30.

The move likely stems from legal data protection requirements, such as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the U.S. or similar global regulations. If page admins fail to confirm, their content may become invisible.

However, Facebook has not provided clear guidelines on how to determine if a page is for children or what steps to take if it is. This lack of clarity has left many page operators uncertain about compliance.

With potential reach limitations or content removal at stake, businesses and content creators must act before the deadline to avoid disruptions.
