Tragic Acid Attack in Rawalpindi Woman Targeted by Ex-Husband Over Divorce Case

In Rawalpindi’s Chakri Road area, a woman from Muzaffargarh sustained severe injuries after her ex-husband attacked her with acid.

According to police reports, the victim, originally from Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, had filed for Khula (divorce) against her former spouse.

The attack took place while she was on her way to court with her father for a hearing when her ex-husband, accompanied by two unidentified individuals, ambushed them and threw acid, leaving both critically injured.

They were immediately shifted to Holy Family Hospital for medical treatment.

Following the incident, Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Mehmood Hamdani took notice and directed the authorities to arrest the perpetrators. The police have since apprehended the ex-husband, Muhammad Riaz.

Investigations are ongoing, and authorities suspect the attack stemmed from personal enmity. The police have assured that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the culprit is brought to justice.
