Lahore's Electric Buses Offer Free Rides for Students, Seniors, and Disabled Persons

Lahore’s electric bus project is progressing smoothly, with passengers praising it as a highly comfortable and budget-friendly transport option.

Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan stated that electric buses are currently operating on the Green Town to Railway Station route, offering passengers free mobile and laptop charging services during their journey.

He further revealed plans to introduce over 500 more electric buses in Lahore and other major cities in the coming months to improve public transport facilities.

Highlighting affordability, the minister noted that even a rickshaw ride costs more than 20 rupees, yet this modern and efficient bus service is available at the same price for public convenience.

Additionally, Bilal Akbar Khan announced that students, senior citizens, and individuals with special needs will receive free travel benefits through the Green Electro Card. The government is dedicated to expanding this initiative to modernize and promote environmentally friendly public transportation nationwide.
