India continues to dominate their chase of 242 against Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, reaching 102/2 after 18 overs.

Shubman Gill, who was dropped on 35 by Khushdil Shah, finally fell for 46 (52) to Abrar Ahmed. This brought Shreyas Iyer to the crease, joining Virat Kohli, who is looking solid on 32* (39).

Earlier, Rohit Sharma gave India a brisk start with 20 off 15 balls before being bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi. Kohli and Gill then built a crucial 68-run stand to keep India’s required rate in check. Kohli also made history, becoming the fastest batter to reach 14,000 ODI runs.

Pakistan’s spinners, Abrar Ahmed and Khushdil Shah, have tried to slow India’s momentum but are yet to make a major impact. With wickets in hand and a required rate below five, India remains in control, while Pakistan needs quick breakthroughs to stage a comeback.
