Veteran Pakistani actress Bushra Ansari was awarded the prestigious Award of Recognition at a special ceremony held in the UK Parliament, acknowledging her remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry and her social advocacy efforts.
The event, organised by the British Asian Society and Samara Events UK, was hosted by MP Yasmin Qureshi. Among the attendees were notable figures including MP Afzal Khan, A. Haq (Chairman of the British Asian Society), Maria Soraya, and Amal Hafeez, along with community leaders, artists, and fans of the legendary actress.

In her acceptance speech, Bushra Ansari emphasized the importance of Pakistani dramas in showcasing the country’s rich cultural heritage, traditional attire, and Urdu language. She highlighted the global reach of these dramas, stating, “It is a privilege to receive this honour in such a prestigious setting.”
Bushra Ansari dedicated the award to her fellow artists and storytellers, expressing her gratitude for their collective efforts in promoting Pakistan’s cultural legacy worldwide. She praised their role in building cultural bridges through the arts.
MP Yasmin Qureshi praised Ansari’s decades-long career, recognising her as a cultural ambassador who has introduced Pakistan’s artistic traditions to international audiences. “Bushra Ansari has not only entertained but has also inspired generations,” said Qureshi.
The evening also celebrated Ansari’s iconic television roles, which have endeared her to viewers both in Pakistan and globally. Her recognition in the UK Parliament places her alongside other Pakistani celebrities, such as Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa, who have been similarly honoured for their contributions to global culture.
