The mother of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, has passed away, sparking a wave of condolences from the country’s leadership.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his heartfelt grief, offering condolences to General Munir and his family during this difficult time, praying for strength and peace for the bereaved. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his sympathies, praying for eternal peace for the departed soul and solidarity with the army chief’s family.

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, along with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister Amir Muqam, expressed similar sentiments, calling the loss “irreparable” and offering prayers for the deceased.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also shared their condolences, underscoring the pain of losing a parent and standing by the family in this hour of grief.
