Emraan Hashmi Responds to Javed Sheikh's Claims of 'Rude' Behavior on Jannat Sets

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has broken his silence regarding veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh’s recent allegations that he was “rude” and “dismissive” during the filming of their 2008 movie Jannat. Addressing the controversy in a recent interview with Indian Express, Emraan described the claims as “bizarre” and attributed them to a misunderstanding.

Emraan expressed surprise at the resurfacing of this issue after nearly 17 years, stating, “It’s bizarre! I was 20-something then, and he is not my age, so we were never friends. I didn’t hang out with him, but I don’t remember anything like what he is saying happening.” He suggested that Javed Sheikh might have misinterpreted their interactions, which have now turned into unnecessary drama.

Reflecting on the situation, Emraan added, “I don’t know what Javed sahab took back with him, but it is definitely something he has held on to for 16-17 years. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a giant comedy of errors that has snowballed into something I know nothing about.”

The allegations arose when Javed Sheikh recalled his experience during a recent appearance on a Ramadan Transmission, claiming that Emraan’s cold behavior had hurt him during the Jannat shoot. Sheikh compared this treatment to his positive experiences working with Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan.

Despite the controversy, Emraan Hashmi remains focused on his career. His upcoming film Ground Zero is set to release on April 25, 2025. Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film is based on a real-life BSF operation, with Emraan portraying a BSF Deputy Commandant on a high-stakes national security mission.
