A devastating car accident in Malakand has claimed the lives of five family members after their vehicle lost control and plunged into a canal near the Khatkoshah Afghan refugee camp in Duragai tehsil. The tragic incident occurred amidst heavy rainfall, further complicating road conditions.
Local emergency responders, including the Malakand Levies and Rescue 1122, quickly arrived at the scene to retrieve the victims from the water. Sadly, two women, two young girls, and the driver of the vehicle were declared deceased. Their bodies have been transported to a nearby hospital for identification and post-mortem procedures.

According to Muhammad Asim Khan, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, the accident resulted from the vehicle losing control due to the slippery roads caused by the rain. Local police have initiated an investigation into the accident, which has sent shockwaves through the community.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the heavy rainfall played a major role in the vehicle veering off the road, contributing to the tragic loss of life. Meanwhile, other areas, including Peshawar, Dir, and Chitral, have been experiencing similar wet conditions, with heavy rain and even snowfall in some regions.
