Former President Donald Trump has reportedly fired six senior National Security Council (NSC) staffers after a controversial Oval Office meeting in which far-right activist Laura Loomer presented a dossier accusing several officials of disloyalty.
Among those dismissed were Brian Walsh, senior director for intelligence; Thomas Boodry, senior director for legislative affairs; and Maggie Dougherty, senior director for international organisations. The firings came shortly after Loomer handed Trump a booklet outlining alleged anti-Trump sentiments, including past social media posts and ties to GOP establishment figures like Mitch McConnell and the late John McCain.

Although NSC principal deputy Alex Wong was a key target in Loomer’s dossier, he was not fired. Loomer had accused him of having connections to the Chinese Communist Party due to his wife’s role in prosecuting January 6 Capitol rioters at the Department of Justice.
The meeting, attended by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, Vice President JD Vance, and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, also spotlighted concerns about internal security protocols following a breach in a Signal group chat. Loomer claimed the breach was linked to Wong, though internal reviews blamed an accidental add by Waltz.
In a related shake-up, the director of the NSA and head of US Cyber Command, Timothy Haugh, along with his deputy Wendy Noble, were also dismissed. The reasons remain unclear, but Noble was reportedly reassigned within the Pentagon.
