The district administration has taken strict action against transporters found guilty of overcharging and overloading passengers during the Eid holidays. According to Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Malik Muhammad Tahir, 1,265 vehicles were thoroughly inspected across the district during the festive period.
Out of these, 70 vehicles were penalized for violations, and 43 were impounded due to serious breaches of transport regulations. The total fines imposed on the violators amounted to Rs153,500.

Additionally, the RTA successfully recovered Rs24,160 in excess fares from transporters, which was returned to the affected passengers on the spot.
To ensure smooth and fair travel for the public, monitoring squads were deployed in coordination with traffic police and assistant commissioners. These teams played a crucial role in identifying violations and maintaining order on the roads during the holidays.
