Onijah Robinson, the 33-year-old American woman who made headlines for travelling to Karachi to marry her online love, has returned to New York—and says she has no plans to come back to Pakistan.
In a recent interview with local media, Onijah clarified rumours about her reported arrest in Dubai. “I didn’t go to jail, I was just stuck in Dubai. It was a situation I couldn’t understand at the time,” she said.

Speaking about her visit to Pakistan, she confirmed that her relationship with 19-year-old Nidal Ahmed Memon began online. However, things took a dramatic turn when Nidal’s family opposed the marriage, and he mysteriously disappeared. Later, Nidal allegedly accused Onijah of catfishing him.
When asked whether she would return to Pakistan to find Nidal, Onijah replied vaguely, “We’ll talk about it,” but later said she had no intention of returning and wanted to stay in New York.
Her story has once again gone viral, with social media buzzing over her dramatic journey and the emotional fallout.
